US Marijuana Party - is a motivated group of Americans who are tired of living in fear of their government because of marijuana prohibition. We are fed up with the intrusion into our personal lives, with urine testing at work and at school, with armed home invasions, and with the possibility of prison because of a plant. WE are Americans and WE do not piss in a cup for anyone but our doctor!

Marijuana advocates who rallied across the street from the state Capitol today had sharp words for lawmakers considering regulations for Colorado's booming medical-marijuana industry.

"Keep your grubby hands off of medical marijuana!" activist Robert Chase shouted toward the Capitol.

About 200 advocates attended the rally —

MPP Executive Director Rob Kampia is embroiled in a sex scandal which has already resulted in the departures of seven employees.

Seven of the Marijuana Policy Project's 38 employees have left the organization recently because of what several described as "inappropriate behavior" by Executive Director Robert Kampia after an office happy hour last August.

Salem Pearce, the former director of membership at MPP, and three other employees told the press that Kampia left Union Pub that evening with his former assistant, who still worked for MPP but had moved to another department.
What happened next remains in dispute, with Kampia and the young lady involved giving different accounts. But Kampia did acknowledge an an email to staff that it was something involving him which he regretted, and that it caused staff defections, report Nikki Schwab and Tara Palmeri at the Washington Examiner.
Even more disturbingly, an anonymous former MPP employee has told Toke of the Town that Kampia's behavior was part of a years-long pattern.
"Rob has a very long history, known to anyone at MPP who's been there more than a few months, of hitting on and sexually harassing pretty young women, including employees," our source told us.
"Even if this particular incident was 100 percent consensual, his behavior should have gotten him fired years ago -- or at the very least, put on probation and fired if it continued," the ex-MPP staffer told Toke of the Town Thursday night.

Miguel Lopez seen introducing Rob Corry at a 2008 marijuana rally.

Yesterday, we pointed out that the Mile High NORML Cannabis Rally, slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. this morning across the street from the west steps of the capitol, would feature a special blessing by Reverend James Marks of the THC Ministry.

But that's hardly the only noteworthy event on the agenda. At approximately 12:30 p.m., Miguel Lopez, a boardmember of Mile High NORML and the organizer of the assembly, will announce his candidacy for governor. "I will be running as a Democrat," Lopez says. "But I'll also be promoting the ideas and beliefs of the U.S. Marijuana Party," whose motto is, "A vote you can smoke."

    MADISON:
For over a week, Wisconsin Eye, the statewide multimedia public affairs network, has been running an online poll on support for medical marijuana in Wisconsin.

As I write at close to 1pm on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, the current results are:

    Eye in the Sky Survey

    Should Wisconsin legalize medical marijuana?

    YES (97.1%)

    NO (2.3%)

    UNDECIDED (0.6%)

Meanwhile, in the first days of 2010, a news article stating variations of the theme that the Democratic legislative leadership was "cool" towards the JRMMA was widely distributed in tv news reports and radio, print and internet reports.

  • January 14th Rally: Off The Steps & Into The House

Cannabis re-legalization activists have been rallying on the West Steps of the Colorado State Capitol Building, also known as the State House for years. This year, the state legislature is going to try and restrict medical marijuana patients' access to their Constitutionally protected cannabis medicine. Now normally we hold our Rallies on the West Steps. We had the permit for said area but the state moved us across the street to the Veteran's Memorial in Civic Center Park (between Lincoln and Broadway to the East and West with Colfax Ave and 15th Ave to the North and South). Their reasoning being it was media day at the Capitol and our normal rally area would be full of media satellite vehicles. It's all good! We are only been moved across the street and with the media on hand, we have been basically handed the Golden Apple massive "free media!"

This rally has it's usual litany of Colorado Pro-Marijuana Speakers
Rob Corry, Brian Vicente, Mason Tvert, Dr Bob Melamede, Tim Martin, Paul Saurini, Warren Edson, and others, however here is the twist.

After the rally we are going "INTO THE HOUSE" and do a meet and greet with our elected representatives. En masse, can you dig it. We will be making marijuana history.

Now although everything I have written so appears to be medical marijuana driven, not...!!!

This event is open to all. If you are a Medical, Recreational, and Commercial (Hemp) marijuana activist, believer, voter, concerned citizen, etc, please attend. This is it folks, the stars are in our favor and the time is NOW...!!!

    Rules of Engagement:

    1. Come dressed to impress - Remember you will be meeting your legislators or their representatives.

    2. Know your talking points when you do meet whoever.

    3. Have you wants and demands in writing with your name and address so they can get back with you.

This is not a drill but the real deal!

Legalize, Regulate, Tax, medical, recreational, and commercial (hemp) marijuana with the self determination to grow your own marijuana.

    This rally is sponsored by:

    Mile High NORML
    Cannabis Therapy Institute
    Denver 420 Rally Team
    Yippie
    US Marijuana Party of Colorado

    INVITE, INVITE, INVITE

Strength in numbers and numbers do speak...!!!

Also this is not your typical marijuana rally, kids unless you are going in to see your representatives this is not an open invitation for a pot party and a chance to skip school. We want responsibility to rule the day, the whole world is watching. Adults, plan ahead to leave or miss work...!!!
